Kennadie Grace is here!

Well, she's already 6 weeks old and I'm just now updating our blog. I guess that will show you how busy I have been! I have some time off from work so I'm able to finally catch up with things. School started today, Damion's in 3rd grade and Jayden is in preschool. I get to stay home and enjoy my time with the baby for the first time ever I am not working! Loving it :)
So before I forget I will give an update on the labor/delivery of our precious little girl. My water broke July 22 at 3 am while I was sleeping. I woke up Blaine and made sure it was my water that broke, which it was! We got all my items together and called my mom. She came down to stay with the kids and we headed to the hospital.
We got to the hospital and I still didn't have any contractions start, so after a few hours the nurse gave me pitocin to speed things up. Once your water breaks you have to get the baby out or the risk of infection increases. I was a little upset because I was only 37 1/2 weeks and I was worried about the health of the baby.
I had an epidural, as the pain increased...forget doing it without the drugs! So, Blaine was updating facebook on an hourly basis, this was his way of dealing with the stress of everything. The nurse thought he was crazy on his computer the whole time!
Finally at 2:40 pm I was ready to deliver, and it was pretty quick. I had about 4 contractions and pushes and out she came. She was so beautiful, even the nurse commented on how pretty she was. I was so excited to meet my little girl after almost 10 months of waiting. She weighed 5lbs 10oz and was 18.5 inches. She is perfect and adjusting very well to life in the Donnelly home.
We stayed 2 nights in the hospital, the food is great. I was pigging out, my last chance to not worry about what I was eating. The nurse told my husband I was a bit of a pig and was wondering how I stayed so thin.
Now I have adjusted to my lack of sleep and the kids love the baby. Blaine sings songs to little Kennadie and she falls right asleep. She eats about every 2 hours, and is sleeping for about 3-4 hours in the night then eats and goes back to sleep. I can't complain, she has been a blessing to our family.
I am off work until December, and planning to enjoy every minute of my time with her. This is my last baby I plan to enjoy her and watch her grow. Thank you Jesus for a healthy baby and this blessing in our life. We love you Kennadie Grace!!

Sacramento Baby Shower

I had a wonderful baby shower in Sacramento at Yvonne's house. I got to see some friends I haven't seen in a few years. I had a really fun time! Thanks to Shirley, Jessica, Yvonne and Barbara for planning everything and making some great food and putting up such cute decorations. I hope to see everyone again soon. Thanks to everyone for the nice gifts, they will be used!

Park City, Utah

We are having a wonderful time on our annual summer vacation to Park City. We are staying at the beautiful Marriott Mountainside, having a blast swimming, eating and relaxing. I am now 32 weeks, getting bigger each day.  I see pictures of my stomach and I'm surprised I look as pregnant as I do. I'm not sure why I would be surprised, but I guess I can't believe I am only 2 months away. The baby is moving a lot, she gets the hiccups a few times a day and kicks me quite a bit. We still need to put all the baby furniture together, get the den set up for her, car seats, etc. That is my task for the next week when we get back. Then I'm off to Sacramento for my baby shower there, I can't wait to see everyone!
The kids are getting excited about the baby, Jayden wants the baby to come out every day. I told her she has to stay in and get bigger. She wanted to know if the baby can stand in my stomach, uses a toilet, wheres clothes and has a bed. I guess these are questions little kids think of, pretty good ones to ask! I am nervous and excited how will I manage 3 kids? Well, I will let you know soon!

Spring Break!

Well, I can't believe how nice it was to have a week off for Spring Break. We headed to Napa for a few days and enjoyed some sun, the pool and hot tub. We ended up staying in Yountville (near Napa) since it was much nicer and the hotel was beautiful. I would not go again with kids, too many older people and not enough to do for kids, but we did enjoy the time away. I am so tired from travelling, glad to be home.
I am starting to get bigger, which is good but I guess I need to get over the fact that your whole body expands. I am really trying to eat healthy and still exercising but the weight gain happens regardless. The baby is moving and very active, which is good! I will enjoy the summer off and time with the kids, by then I will be very pregnant!

5 months and counting

I can't believe how fast this pregnancy is going! I am halfway through, not feeling too big or pregnant yet (Thank God!) I am feeling a lot of movement and kicking, especially when I sit still and when I wake up in the morning. The kids are getting excited to have a new little sister, I am sure having the baby will be an adjustment for everyone. Jayden starts kindergarten next year, time goes so fast! I want to enjoy every moment with the kids and with this pregnancy, since I am not sure if we will have more kids. I am so grateful for my families health and happiness, I have Jesus to thank for that!

Welcome to our new blog

We decided to get on the bandwagon and post our family events. We have a new baby on the way, I am due August 5th (summer baby). So far we have the name Kenadie Grace picked out. Damion is in 2nd grade, he loves gymnastics and baseball. He is doing very well in school. Jayden just turned 4 this month, she is very girly and loves to play with our kitties "Tito" and "Gato". Blaine is excited for turkey hunting to start in April, that's all he can talk about. I am teaching high school classes, waiting for summer to be here. We are going on a trip to Park City Utah in June, we went there this past summer and had a wonderful time.
We are enjoying where we live, with the open space and beautiful scenery. The kids have adjusted well to living here. I make many visits to Sacramento to get my city fix and see friends. I have made some great friends here too. I have been able to stay active walking, jogging and bike riding (although I do miss having a gym nearby). My parents live up the street so we get to see them on a regular basis, they enjoy being near the kids.
Well, I am on my way out the door to go on a walk (it snowed last night). Then we are off to church!
